Chronic Fatigue Syndrome : Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Research
Vitamins And Chronic FatigueVitamins, as we all know, are very important nutrition. Vitamins perform many functions and help to fight against many diseases. In some recent ..... Recently medical profession has described a syndrome called chronic fatigue syndrome. Once divisive, it has become usual as a valid diagnosis by medical professionals. CFS follows a viral infection, and is then found after mononucleosis infections. Some non-specific symptoms of fatigue are tiredness, exhaustion, and aches which make CFS difficult to diagnose and they are comparable to some other conditions such as lupus, multiple sclerosis and Lyme disease (among others). CFS and fibromyalgia carve up many common characteristics, and may be misdiagnosed as depression.
Research report of the National institute of health : The medical report, which was assessed by laboratory and other means, were considered from the different perspectives of key medical specialties involved in CFS research. It was suggested that Centers for Disease Control (CDC) case-definition criteria has to be adapted to eliminate some few patients from analysis because of psychiatric disorder. Suggestions were made concerning the inclusion or exclusion of some other major perplexing diagnoses, and a panel of laboratory tests was specified for initial patient evaluation. The workshop emphasized the importance of identifying other conditions that could explain the patient's symptoms, which can be treatable. It was decided that the data analysis would consist a separate sub group of the students suffering from this. As CFS is a homogeneous abnormality and also there is no pathogenic mechanism, research progress may depend upon demarcation of these and other patient subgroups for separate data analysis. To develop good instruments for quantifying domains in patients suffering from CFS further research is to be conducted.
Heart rate variability : The CFS patients verified a regular pattern of heart beat action. Some cardiac conditions were associated with reduced HRV. Heart activity had a slightly different pattern of heartbeats and unhealthy heart activity has a regular pattern of heartbeats. CFS patients have consistently displayed low levels of heart rate variability (HRV) during tilt table testing. The low frequency (LF) part of the spectrum is typically increased in CFS patient’s proposed increased sympathetic nervous system and decreased parasympathetic nervous system activity. Intriguingly (along with many other CFS-like symptoms such as fatigue, poor concentration, palpitations, etc.), over-trained athletes have similar HRV findings. Augmented sympathetic activity in cardiac patients is believed to be a protective response designed to reduce the possibility of life threatening arrhythmias.
