Poisoning is caused by swallowing, injecting, breathing in, or otherwise being exposed to a poisonous substance. Causes of poisoning may be:

First aid is the immediate care given someone who has suddenly sickened or been hurt in an accident. The First-aid training continues through the program of the Boy Scouts of America as concrete evidence that we are prepared to help others in need. It is important that one person should be trained all the principles of aid and should thoroughly understand the uses of the first aid. Being prepared for situations in which first aid training is required is a sign of a good boy scout. Whether in the outdoors or a large city, situations will come up where a first aid kit accompanied with thorough training may make the difference between life and death.

Treatment of minor cuts and scrapes:

1. Remove all the debris from the wound as possible, rinsing with clean water.
2. Gently clean the wound with an antiseptic wipe.
3. Apply a thin layer of antiseptic ointment.
4. Cover the wound with an adhesive bandage.
5. Look for signs of infection, such as swelling, redness or warmth around the wound.
6. If infection develops then consult a physician.

First aid kit should contain:

1. bar of soap
2. roller bandage
3. triangular bandage
4. scissors
5. tweezers
6. Absorbent cotton.

Because of the possibility of exposure to communicable diseases, the first-aid kits should include latex or vinyl gloves, plastic goggles or other eye protection, and antiseptic to be used when giving first aid to bleeding victims, as protection against possible exposure.

2. motivate scouts to train
3. provide practice in an atmosphere of urgency

Scouts will need to be prepared and to have all necessary supplies other than disposable gauze pads and tape. Each member of scout group should have a small personal first-aid kit consisting of adhesive bandages, any medications they usually take, and blister treatment. They should store the personal items in zipper-locking plastic bags to protect them from moisture.

The survival first aid kit : The first aid kit should be small and waterproof. A plastic or aluminum box with a tight fitting lid makes a good container. A heavy-duty zip lock or waterproof ditty bag may be used as well. It should contain the essential medical instruments and bandage materials listed.
