First Aid : Travel First Aid

First Aid Information
First aid is immediate and temporary aid which provides to a sick or injured person until medical treatment can be provided. It is .....
When we travel around the world, especially in developing countries, it is always important to have your own sterile first aid equipment as well as standard bandages and dressings. Having these items means that if you have to be treated by a doctor or a dentist you know that they will be operating with surgically sterile needles, syringes and scalpels. We should keep pain killers especially for travel kit, scissors, medicines, bandages etc. In travel almost many people vomit as with diarrhea, the important point is to replace lost fluids. Frequent small drinks, if possible using ones that contain salt and sugar, are preferred. While traveling we should carry extra water.

Packing the kit:

1 An adequate supply of any medications routinely taken by any member of the party, all correctly labeled. Beware restrictions in some countries about what medicines can be brought in. Check with your travel agent. If worried get letters from your doctor confirming the drugs prescribed.
2 First-aid items. A supply of plasters, wound dressings, antiseptic creams and an elastic bandage for sprains.
3 Water-sterilizations tablets.
4 Sun creams and protection

Always be ready for all potential emergencies at home, in the car, outdoors or on the water. From cuts and stings to minor aches and pains, this kit prepares you for those small everyday emergencies.

All the items should be in unbreakable containers with tight fitting lids. Accidents, injuries, and emergencies happen to everyone, eventually. Properly preparing for these instances is all-important. The advantage of making your own kit is that you can specialize it according to your needs, and it generally will cost you less money to assemble your own.
