Hemorrhoid is a disease characterized by the excessive swelling of the blood vessels inside the rectum. Sometime inflammation may occur in the layer of the skin lining the anal canal. The symptom of this disorder is characterized by excessive pain and uneasiness. The main causes of hemorrhoid include the lifestyle, food habit and in some cases in may be considered to be hereditary by nature. Spending excessive time in the toilet due to constipation can also add in decreasing the disorder as the blood vessels undergo excessive straining. Regular intake of spicy food can also cause itching which further on may lead to the swelling and the formation of lump near the site of anus.
Thrombosed hemorrhoid is a type of external hemorrhoid characterized by formation of blood clot inside the rectum. Formation of blood clot can affect the normal health as it cause disturbances while walking .it may also lead to constipation and profuse bleeding. Mild complications appearing due to external thrombosed hemorrhoid can be treated very easily by just applying some ointments. The ointments help in absorbing the clot by the body and within a few weeks a patient can back to normal health.

The ancient surgical technique involves the cutting of the blood vessels by making an incision into the clot and the clot is squeezed out. In this technique complete clot along with the blood vessels is removed and require stitches. But this technique is found to be more useful and gives complete removal of hemorrhoid.

After the surgery patients may experience little pain, which will last for one or two weeks. Various pain relieving medicines can be taken but narcotic drugs should b avoided as it may again cause constipation. After the surgery bloody discharge is found from the operational site and it wound should be clean and there should not be any compromise in maintaining hygienic conditions.
