A hemorrhoid can be described as a mass or a clump of a tissue of tissue within the anal canal that contain blood vessels and their surrounding, supporting tissue made up of muscle and elastic fibers. The prevalence of these diseases is very common and it can occur to everyone. In some cases a hemorrhoid become large and causes problems and generally its occurrence is found in men and women in the age group of 45-65. A hemorrhoid may appear as a small, rounded, purplish tumor, often complicated by inflammation, clotting, and bleeding. Hemorrhoids also known as piles, in general are the outcome of venal congestions by varied factors like such as constipation, diarrhea, or pregnancy. Hemorrhoids are of two types the external ones which occurs outside the body and the internal ones that is inside the body.
In some cases it is seen that hemorrhoids occur due to genetic pre deposition of weak rectal vein walls and or valves. Sometimes it may be the outcome of excessive strains during bowel movements or too much pressure on the rectal veins due to poor posture. In women the most common causes of hemorrhoid occurrence may be due to pregnancy, postponing bowel movements, and a fiber-deprived diet. Other causes that may actively support in the formation of the hemorrhoids are constipation, chronic diarrhea, and poor bathroom habits such as sitting for unusually long periods of time, reading on the toilet or excessive cleaning attempts.
Temporary and mild hemorrhoids heal spontaneously and their treatment mainly focuses on the preventive steps. In such cases temporary relief can be provided by warm sitz bath using a bidet, extendable showerhead, cold compress, or topical analgesics. Regular use of medical suppositories and ointments such as Anusol in the initial stages of the formation of a hemorrhoid may prove effective and relive the sufferers from further risks of development and irritation. There are also a number of natural ways for the prevention and cure of hemorrhoids. In this regard natural herbs such as the butcher's broom, horse chestnut, brome lain, and Japanese pagoda tree extracts are extensively used for their healing powers and also for the strengthening of the vein walls. For the prevention of itching and swelling pure aloe juice are recommended.
