Bird Flu Virus : Bird Flu Transmission

Vitamin C And Bird Flu
Scientific researches have revealed that high dosage of vitamin c is remarkably effective and safe in the treatment .....
Studies have revealed that the avian H5N1 an airborne virus which is found to be the main causative agent of the avian flu can survive for up to four days at 71 F (22 C) and more than 30 days at 32 F. It can also survive under extreme freezing conditions. In rural the virus easily gets transmitted into the domesticated poultry from farm to farm through the feces, nasal secretion, and saliva. Reported human cases have been blamed on direct contact with infected birds and their droppings. Even though the virus itself is not contagious but there is a possibility that it can mutate by with the human influenza virus and thus after changing its DNA structure can cause transmission from human to human.

Reports of more than 200 people who have contracted the H5N1 virus have been received from across the different parts of the world. Experts and health officials point out that cross-infection to humans is still relatively rare and usually occurs where people have been in close contact with infected birds. The water fowls and the migratory birds are found to carry the deadly virus without any symptoms of diseases. These birds may be effective transmitter of the viruses to the domesticated birds through contaminated water, feathers and droppings. Recent deaths of ducks in Romania due to the H5N1 virus have raised alarm and scientists are in a phase of suspicion that the bird flu has been spread from the Asian counties into the European continent.

Bird Flu Statistics
Bird flu is of many types. There are generally many kinds of flu that can infect birds’ i.e. wild birds as well as domestic birds, like chickens or .....
The best way for the prevention of the transmission would be to eliminate the virus from birds, but it has become increasingly doubtful if this can be achieved within the near future. Currently the methods involve destruction of the animals through culling and slaughtering of the infected lot. The probable chances of human to human transmission can be effectively reduced through vaccination although it has not been proved that this can cause total immunization against the virus. Those who have to frequently travel to areas of Asia where outbreaks of H5N1 have occurred are advised to avoid poultry farms and animals in live food markets. Proper hygiene and awareness among the common people at family and social levels may also prove to be fruitful and effective in the prevention of the transmission of the dreaded virus and thus reduce the chances of another major out break.
