The vacuum device is made up of three parts viz: cylinder that is placed over the penis, a pump that helps to draw air from the cylinder and an elastic band that is placed at the base of the penis. This elastic band helps to maintain the erection during the sexual act.
There is also the possibility of a penile implant in which case the implants are surgically placed into the scrotum.
