Try and distract your baby so that the attention from the pain shifts to other pleasant things. Playing with him or change of the scenery will create ample entertainment. This will get him out of his dull and wailing period. When the situation becomes extreme where neither the change in environment nor toys are helping him to shift his focus from his pain, you can divulge into doctor recommended pain killers like paracetamol or ibuprofen. Refrain form giving the baby aspirin unless suggested by the physician.

What your baby needs most in this stage is for you to be supportive and responsive towards him. The communication bond has to be established between you and the baby and only a mother can carry out that job to perfection. Plenty of hugs and gestures of love and affection will reach out to the baby. No matter even if he cannot speak, he understands love gestures very well.
