Everyone has varying amounts of stress. It's a fact of life. In fact a normal amount of stress is good. It can drive us to make a deadline or protect us from danger when we need it. But if you have a severe amount of stress it can have adverse effects on your body. And not only are some of the effects immediate, but they can happen over a long period of time. Even eventually leading to sickness.
One of the first symptoms you may have of intense stress is tension. Your muscles tighten up, becoming hard to the touch. Your neck becomes stiff, making it hard to turn your head. Not only does stress effect your body, but it can mess with your mind, too. You may lose concentration and become jumpy or irritable. These signs could be your first indication that you might need to do something about the stress you are under.
Other indicators may include, but are not limited to: a fast heartbeat, headaches and backaches, upset stomach, nausea, and diarrhea.
Stress RelieversIn today's busy world everyone has at least some kind stress built up in their life whether it be work related or family ..... Severe stress can effect your mood, the way you think, or even the way you behave. If you are under a lot of stress, you may find yourself irritated easily and more prone to yelling at people around you for no reason. You could possibly even take out your frustrations on them. Eventually, exhaustion could take over and deplete your energy. Concentrating might be impossible and you may lose confidence in their abilities.
If a person loses that confidence, they could become depressed, even antisocial. They may not want to go out, could change jobs frequently, or even have increased arguments with their coworkers.
What Causes StressWe all know that stress is part of our everyday lives. It's normal and can cause extreme situations to arise. But what causes stress? What ..... Not only does stress directly effect you, but it also effects the people around you. If you are under an enormous amount of stress and find yourself yelling at those around you for the slightest things, then you could be building up walls between you and your friends...family...or even your coworkers. You may even inadvertently blame them for the stress in your life.
If you are unable to find ways to cope with the stress in your life then the long-term effects could be devastating. Ulcers, diabetes, hair loss, and gum disease are just a few of these. Not to mention cancer, heart disease, substance abuse, and obesity. If you find yourself having any of these symptoms, take the time to relax and regroup. Take care of yourself and you'll be better able to manage the situation.
